Chemical Peels – A simple, pain-free procedure
Chemical Peels are minimally invasive, in-office procedures used to improve skin color, tone and texture. They help even out pigmentation, improve fine lines and wrinkles and restore a healthy glow to sun damaged skin. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck, under eyes, lips, chest, and hands. A chemical peel is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve the appearance of the skin. The potential result of the chemical peel depends on the type of chemical and technique used.
Peel formulas and strengths range from mild to strong, and are tailored to each patient. Superficial or lunchtime chemical peels give the best results if performed in a series of four procedures every 3-4 weeks to obtain optimum results. Recovery time is about 3-5 days. Medium depth peels may be repeated every 6-12 months to maintain results. Darker skin types and tanned skin are more likely to experience side effects therefore this procedure is best performed on lighter and untanned skin.
